About This School

Greenfield Community College is a public institution located in Greenfield, Massachusetts with approximately 1,395 undergraduate students enrolled. The average net price after financial aid is $7,679 per year. Typical graduates earn $36,300 within 10 years of enrollment.

Greenfield Community College (GCC) is a public community college in Greenfield, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1962 and is one of Massachusetts's 15 community colleges. The main campus, which comprises two buildings, is located in Greenfield, Massachusetts on a 107-acre property near the junction of Interstate 91 and Route 2. GCC students hail from Hampshire, Franklin, and Worcester Counties in Western Massachusetts, as well as southern Vermont and New Hampshire. Many of GCC's transfer students continue on at one of Hampshire County's Five Colleges, or to one of 14 Massachusetts State Universities. GCC is the largest source of transfer students to Smith College.

Worth considering if you're in Western Massachusetts and want an affordable path to a degree or transfer — at just $8,081/year average net price and only $5,500 in median debt at graduation, the financial risk here is genuinely low. The trade-off is that median earnings of $36,300 a decade out are modest, so this school makes the most sense as a stepping stone to a four-year transfer rather than a terminal credential. If you're disciplined about using GCC's transfer pathways and keeping costs down, the math works in your favor.
