The Antillean Adventist University (AAU) is a private, Seventh-day Adventist university in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. The university developed from the merging of two educational institutions: Puerto Rico Academy established in 1946; renamed in 1957 as the Colegio Adventista Puertorriqueño, and Antillian College which moved to Puerto Rico as a result of the Cuban Revolution. In 1989, the school's higher education program was licensed by the Council of Higher Education of Puerto Rico on August 18, 1989.

The numbers tell a mixed story here: at just $8,471/year net price and $11,725 median debt at graduation, this is one of the most affordable private college options you'll find, making it genuinely worth considering if cost is a major factor. However, a 46% graduation rate is a real concern — nearly half of students who start don't finish — and median earnings of $27,300 a decade out suggest limited financial upside for most graduates. This fits best for students rooted in the Seventh-day Adventist faith community who want an affordable, values-aligned education and have a clear plan to stay enrolled and complete their degree.
