About This School

Ner Israel Rabbinical College is a private nonprofit institution located in Baltimore, Maryland with approximately 292 undergraduate students enrolled. Ner Israel Rabbinical College has an open or accessible admissions process, with an acceptance rate of 79%. The average net price after financial aid is $5,548 per year. The graduation rate is 44%.

Ner Israel Rabbinical College, also known as NIRC and Ner Yisroel, is a Haredi Jewish yeshiva in Pikesville, Maryland. It was founded in 1933 by Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, a disciple of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, dean of the Slabodka yeshiva in Lithuania. Rabbi Aharon Feldman, a disciple of Rabbi Ruderman and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America, became its head in 2001.

The numbers tell a mixed story here: the $5,548 average annual net price makes this one of the most affordable paths to a rabbinical education you'll find, and a 95% freshman retention rate suggests students who enroll feel strongly committed to staying. However, the 44% graduation rate is a real concern worth pressing the school to explain — whether students are leaving, transferring, or simply taking longer paths to completion matters a lot before you commit. This is a strong option if you're specifically pursuing Orthodox Jewish religious training and cost is a priority, but it's a poor fit for anyone without a clear sense of that mission.
